With the biggest beach on the whole of Mallorca's east coast, it's no wonder that Cala Millor (and the adjoining Cala Bona) is fast becoming such a successful resort. Five miles of gently sloping sands line the entire coastal edge of town, enclosed at either end by natural headlands, both of which are green beauty spots. Opportunities for watersports abound, including windsurfing, for which a school is available for all ages. The fun doesn't stop at the shore however. The resident Fantasy Park will keep the kids busy for hours on end with its range of colourful rides and inflatables. There's also the Auto Safari Zoo just outside of town with giraffes, zebras and monkeys; plus infant elephants at the incorporated Baby Zoo. Cala is also well known for its eclectic pubs and music bars that populate the town centre. They help give it a slightly livelier edge than its neighbours, but it's still a far cry from Magaluf and Palma Nova, and is regarded as a family resort. The locals do love to celebrate however, and hold a series of fiestas every calendar year. By far the most spectacular are the Mallorca Balloons, held at the end of October.
