Puerto de la Cruz Beaches

Puerto Cruz is home to the magnificent complex of Costa Martianez. This modern development is constructed in a traditional style. It features a gigantic swimming pool on a peninsular that jets out into the ocean. Also some black-sand beaches. At just over half a mile, the town's other main beach of Playa Jardin is a European Blue Flag Winner. This is divided into to three separate sections.

Casinos and Botanical Parks

Away from the shores (although not too far away) is Taora Park. The main attraction here is the extravagant casino, but you'll find just as much fun in the adjoining bars and nightclubs. Taking a trip round the old town is a treat as well, and it's stuffed full of colonial architecture lots of greenery. Nowhere near as much as in the Botanical Gardens of course, which are a must-see. They're in walking distance and have an amazing selection of 4,000 species of exotic plants.

Parrot Park

Another place that always gets rave reviews from its patrons is the Loro Parque (Parrot Park). The name excludes many other of its residents, such as the sea lions, dolphins and penguins. The park has a great atmosphere. You can hear a real cacophony of both animal calls and cheers of delighted visitors on a great day out.
