Ready to explore a little then head for the Olympic Village, restaurants and the board walk leading to the exhibition centres and Barceloneta - filled with glorious gift shops, colour and vibrancy and cool cafes where you can take a rest and view the ocean and port.
The Monument of Columbus marks the spot where Las Ramblas begins. The Maritime Museum, Liceo Opera House and a helpful Tourist Information Office are found here. A little further up is the ancient Gothic Quarter with its cathedral, Kings Square, Bishops Palace and Picasso's Museum. The tree lined avenue is home to flowers, bird sellers, kiosks, tasty tapas and cool refreshing drinks. At the top you will come to Plaza de Catalunya - the main square and where you can shop in our famous departmental store known as El Corte Ingles.
If you are with the family why not head for Montjuic - here you will find the Olympic Stadium, Spanish Village Complex and the fairground. Finish the day in style at the foothill where the fabulous fountain display takes place to colour, clever lighting and marvellous music.
