Depending on your interests there's something here to entertain most people. Plenty of churches, monuments and ruins and some rather interesting caves are to be found at Cales Cove - prehistoric and having a history of pagan rituals - they are explored by many. There's lots of walking and hiking to be done here with ramblers arriving in the spring time to view the beautiful flowers and plant life.
Some of the more interesting landmarks on the island include the Cathedral at Cuitadella, its Castell de Sant Nicolau which dates back to the 17the century and was the Watch Tower protecting the nearby harbour. Teatro Principal is found in the main town of Mahon - used now as a cinema and hosting some musical concerts throughout the year. Whilst you're in town be sure to visit the Xoriguer Distillery where you can watch the whole gin making process from start to finish and do some sampling too.
Spend time just relaxing or trying your hand at cycling, horse back riding or some of the water sports that are on offer - ski-ing, wind surfing or perhaps that exhilarating experience of para gliding. Enjoy your time here.
