Be sure to take the time to try the Marzipan which is made by the nuns locally and brought in to the city - the sweet made from almonds is delicious. The pottery and ceramics here are renowned for their intricate work and there's a big choice but for something really special its worth travelling to Old Castile where you will find a wider selection.
The sites of the city include museums, monuments and synagogues. The main spot to see is the Alcazar on the East side of the old city dominating the skyline - walking around will take an hour and give you a chilly insight in to the 70 year siege here.
