On the outer edges you will find beautiful fashion designers, jewellers and gift shops. The Opera House, other theatres and a large and helpful Tourist Information Centre can also be found.
The Gothic Quarter is about half way down and contains a myriad of ancient streets, historical buildings including the Cathedral with its lush gardens, Kings Plaza, Bishops Palace to name but a few.
Meander down to the port area where you will meet Christopher Columbus, see the exhibition centres including Emax, visit Barceloneta and perhaps spend a day on the beaches close to the Olympic Village.
