Ideal for those wishing to explore not only Cordoba but its surrounding area. The city itself is filled with charm, ancient architecture, fiestas, flamencos, monuments, palaces, churches and artisan fayre. Local craftsman labour over their ceramics and pottery with detailed designs, leather works introduced by the Arabians, silverware, jewellery and lace all form part of the shopping arena here.
Tapas, local bars, wise locals and a general sense of taking things easy are the order of the day. Sip a cool drink, sit in one of the pretty squares and simply watch the world go by. The Jewish Quarter is where you will find one of the last remaining synagogues in Spain, tiny streets and a charm all of its own.
Walk across the Roman Bridge to the other side of the Guadalquivir River and enjoy panoramic views across the city.
If you fancy some adventure then why not take the Olive Oil route down to Granada - visiting tiny villages, spotting castles and meandering through amazing landscapes. This route will take you through Espejo, Castro del Rio, Baena, Alcaudete and Alcala La Real.
Closer to home flamenco nights are to be enjoyed in two hostelries - Tablao Cardenal on Calle Torrijos and Buleria on Calle Pedro - both serve tapas and drinks.
Enjoy this land of fiestas, fine wines, dancing, music and living!
