Our appealing resort is filled with attractions, charm, typically Andalucian celebrations and parades and events that take place throughout the year. Easter parade during the Holy Week, Crosses of May, Corpus Christi and St John's Eve in June, whilst in July there is the celebration of the Virgen del Carmen which takes place in La Carihuela. September is for the Romaneria and the Summer Feria that centres around Saint Michael - the towns patron saint.
If you love dance then be here in October when the Spanish Ballroom Dancing Championships take place - a favourite with the Banderas family.
Thursday mornings are dedicated to the market which takes place behind the Town Hall and where you will find everything from fresh produce, cheeses, olives, meats, breads and cakes; clothing, shoes and slippers, jumpers, t-shirts and bric-a-brac.
Every kind of sport is available here with several golf courses in the area - one of the first built was the Parador del Golf. There are watersports from taking out a pedal boat to paragliding, water skiing and windsurfing. For something a little more serene why not walk along the coast line and take in the sights of the beautiful blue ocean, dramatic rock formation and the picturesque fishermen's cottages.
There's an Aqua park with 30 rides, Sea Life where the kids can handle Star Fish and Crabs and the Tivoli Theme Park - plenty for families and couple alike.
