Opposite the Arabian Quarter is the exquisite "heaven on earth" creation - the Alhambra Palace - built over centuries and once the home of the Sultans of Arabia.
Festivals, fiestas, processions, parades and celebrations take place throughout the year but one of the highlights is at the end of June - the Festival of the Albaicin where you will see a flourish of horses, horse-drawn carriages, colour, life and music. On 3rd May is the Day of the Cross where all the town walk with raised crosses that have been decorated with flowers. Truly magical.
