Close to the Contemporary museum and within walking distance of the Picasso Museum - a must see as too is his Casa Natal - birth place. Be sure to pay tribute to the Cathedral with its historical carvings, arts work and sculptures and the smaller churches around the city.

For a super view take a short walk and a little climb up to Alcazabar - the Arabian Fortress where you will see beautiful landscaped gardens and fountains, the ruins of the Roman amphitheatre and then onward and upward to the Castillo del Gilbralfaro - the once Phoenician lighthouse - now surrounded by pines and eucalyptus trees.

Socialise with friends over a few dishes of tapas and a cool drink. Take a walk in one of the parks or gardens - El Parque, Concepcion or Alameda where you can enjoy the exotic flowers and plants and the botanical gardens and simply stroll and relax.

There is an abundance of festival life, events, processions, carnivals, fireworks, laughter and music throughout the year. Be sure to join in and enjoy the atmosphere. Take in a Flamenco Show where displays of colour and vibrant dancing is sure to delight you or alternatively find a Jazz Club and relax with a bottle of wine and your favourite company.

Plenty to do and see and no time for boredom here.

Overall: A good 10 mins walk from the bus station. Ideal for an overnight stay if using bus/rail station. Try the Arab restaurant Al Yaural at Blasco de Garay 7 - a 10 min walk from the hotel. Pizza Pino near the bus station was also good.
