Just a short stroll to the centre of the town and there you have it - shopping, cafe bars and restaurants. Be sure to indulge yourself with a few treats in the pedestrianised shopping area of Calle San Miguel - beautiful boutiques, jewellers, lingerie shops, shoes, accessories and some rather dazzling gifts with Crystal and Ceramics being the favourite here.
There are six beaches to choose from here - all safe, sandy and inviting. Be sure to splash in the blue ocean, soak up the sunshine and revive, refresh and relax your mind, body and soul. Take a stroll along the coastline and photograph the scenes - dramatic rock formations, fishing boats out at sea - especially early morning around sunrise - spectacular. See the picturesque cottages and the wise old men playing dominoes and sipping Anis later in the day.
Events, festivals, celebrations and parades take place throughout the year so be sure to be here during these times - Easter, Corpus Christi, St John's Eve in June, Virgen del Carmen in July, Romaneria and St Michaels Day in September. The all important Spanish Ballroom Dancing Championships take place in October and are keenly attended by Antonio Banderas's parents - who won the cup a couple of years ago.
An abundance of sports with golf, paragliding, water ski-ing, windsurfing and a local gym where you can take dance, aerobics and step classes and use the weights. There's something for everyone here.
