Our ancient city has much to offer - festivals, events, carnivals, exhibitions, processions and music fill the air all year round. Celebrating life is an everyday occurrence here - food, wine, walks and spending time with your favourite people is the essence of what Malaga promotes.
Historical buildings and sights are a plenty - churches and museums and especially the Cathedral which was once the Mosque is filled with wood carvings and sculptures dating back centuries. Be sure to climb up to see Alcazabar - the Arabian fortress with its landscaped gardens and fountains - at the entrance you will see the Roman remains of the amphitheatre. Climb a little higher and you come to the Castillo del Gilbralfaro - the once Phoenician lighthouse, now surrounded in pine and eucalyptus trees - enjoy the super views from this hill top vantage point.
For shopping head for Calle Larios - rather like Bond Street - it is filled with designer stores, beautiful boutiques, glitzy jewellers and accessory shops. Perfumeries and gift shops entwine with trendy cafes where you can rest a while, enjoy a cafe con leche and watch the world go by.
Gardens and parks filled with exotic flowers, botanical gardens and shady trees can be found at El Parque and Concepcion.
Restaurants with tapas, fresh fish and salads are a plenty - relax and indulge in the evenings.
