Fabulous location, close to all the main attractions of this city that never sleeps.

Start with a visit to the Sagrada Familia - the famous Gaudi designed cathedral estimated to take 200 years to complete. Enjoy a stroll down to Plaza de Catalunya where you can choose anything from the famous department store here called El Corte Ingles with its many floors and filled with everything from perfume, fine fashion, house ware and gifts. Cross over the road and you are at the gateway to Las Ramblas - the tree lined avenue filled with every kind of sight - birds, flowers, sweet and cake shops, jewellers, tapas, cool drinks served under the shady trees. This is the place to be seen - beautiful people parading up and down.

The port area is at the end of this strip and offers a myriad of melodies - exhibition centres, fish restaurants, gifts, fabulous views out to sea, Olympic Village, golden beaches where you can soak up the sun and relax. Take the children to the zoo, visit the Modern Museum and walk up to Arc de Triomphe before returning to relax, rest and recharge in your comfortable ensuite rooms.

Good stuff: Location and old style of hotel.

Bad stuff: Breakfast was not great. Bread stale. No fresh 100% juice. Staff unfriendly!

Overall: The location of this hotel is great. Close to the Metro (5 min) and only a 20 min train ride from the airport. Also close to some great Gaudi buildings and shopping galore. Plenty of good restaurants in the area. The rooms are no more than adequate. I would suggest not eating the hotel breakfast but rather venturing out for something at one of the local spots as the meal leaves alot to be desired.
