The central point is Las Ramblas where you will find a tree lined avenue filled with flowers, bird sellers, cafe bars serving cool drinks and Tapas and lunchtime treats. On the outer perimeter are a good selection of beautiful boutiques, glitzy jewellers, charming gift shops and perfumeries.
A little further down you find the Gothic Quarter famous for its cathedral, cloister gardens, Bishops Palace, Picasso's Museum and Kings Plaza surrounded by ancient architectured buildings. Either head straight through the other side to come out close to Arc de Triomphe which leads down to the Municipal Park - home of the Modern Art Museum and Zoo OR walk to the end of Las Ramblas where you will find the statue of Christopher Columbus looking out to sea - this open up to an entirely different world. The Port is where you will find exhibition centres with modern day wonders, Barceloneta complex filled with cool cafes, trendy stores and lovely views over the sea and port area.
Further along is the Olympic Village and golden sandy beaches where you can relax, soak up the sunshine and revive, mind, body and soul. City and beach life all in one.
