Surrounded by some of the finest architecture in history you are just a short walk from the famous Sagrada Familia, designed by Gaudi and estimated to be completed in 200 years. Climb the many steps to the top of one of the steeples and enjoy the view over the city. A few blocks away you will find the Bull Ring Museum and a little further you are in Plaza de Glories which leads to the Arc de Triomphe and the Modern Museum and Zoo - housed in a charming park land area.
Glorious gardens, golden sandy beaches and the Olympic Village are all to be enjoyed. Down by the port there is a unique feel of relaxed cafes, gorgeous gift shops and fashion houses and the exhibition centres including Emax virtual reality cinema - the first of its kind in Europe.
Walk the walk up Las Ramblas, take in the sights and aromas - flowers, birds, seating areas under the trees where you can enjoy a well earned drink and some delicious tapas. The Gothic Quarter home of the Cathedral and its gorgeous gardens can be found about half way up. Bishops Palace, Picasso Museum and the Kings Plaza are all to be admired.
Evening entertainment includes theatres, the opera, ballet and jazz but check with the Tourist Information Office on Las Ramblas for the weeks events and soak up all that is no offer.
