Be sure to take in all the sights when you are in Malaga. Steeped in history dating back to the Phoenicians - every culture and land has left its mark - amazing architecture, churches and the Cathedral all stand as witness to the changes over the years. Castillo de Gibralfaro - once a lighthouse is now surrounded in peaceful pines and eucalyptus trees. Alcazabar is another major sight dating back to the 700's - the inner palace is now home to the Archaeological museum.
In the centre you'll find plenty of shopping opportunities - head for Calle Larios (rather like Bond Street) - beautiful boutiques, perfumeries, lingerie and accessory stores. Gentlemen who prefer not to part-take can enjoy some "me time" in the gardens of Alameda - stroll, relax and simply sit and watch the world go by.
Take time to pay tribute to the famous Picasso - his foundation and museum and place of birth are all to be celebrated here.
The social scene is buzzing with jazz festivals, flamenco shows, tapas, music, wine, fireworks, processions and carnivals all taking place throughout the year. Alternatively find a quieter restaurant and savour the favoured cuisine here - fish, seafood - pan fried, grilled or cooked over an open fire - there's an abundance and a choice of many tasty dishes and alternatives. Accompany with wine and share with your favourite person.
