Recently opened in this trendy district we are a short walk from main attractions such as Sagrada Familia - the famous cathedral designed by Gaudi and estimated to take 200 years to complete. Climb the 200 or so steps to view the city from the top of one of the steeples. Take a stroll to Plaza de Glories where you can then make your way down to Arc de Triomphe or to Parc de la Ciutadella where you will find the Modern Museum and the Zoo.
Continuing on your adventure a little to the left is the Olympic Village where you will find some good fish restaurants and golden beaches where you can soak up the sun. Over to the right you are now in Barceloneta filled with cafes, gift shops and fabulous views out to sea. Here you will find exhibition centres and the Emax virtual reality cinema which is an awesome experience and was the first of its kind in Europe.
Find the statue of Christopher Columbus and you enter another world known as Las Ramblas - a tree lined avenue with a real difference - stalls selling birds, flowers, gifts blending in with cafes serving expresso, cool drinks and tapas - sit, relax and watch the world go by.
