Make your way down to Plaza de Catalunya - the centre of the city and the main square, home to our famous department store El Corte Ingles with its many floors and choices. Across the road is the start of Las Ramblas - the tree lined avenue filled with flowers, bird sellers, tasty tapas, cool shady areas to sit, sip a drink and watch the world go by. Half way down you will find the Gothic Quarter with its cathedral, gorgeous gardens, Kings Square and Picasso's museum. Pass through all the way to the other side and you will come out opposite the large park which is home to the Museum of Modern Art and the Zoo. From here you can either head down toward the port area where you will find the Olympic Village, beaches, Barceloneta and exhibition centres OR head up toward Arc de Triomphe and tick off you list the following buildings - Antonia Bures House, Calvet House, Pons i Pascual House and be back in Plaza de Catalunya for a refreshing drink!
