Malaga Holiday Guide - Historic Tour

Malaga's name came from the Spanish "Malaka" which means, place where they salt fish. The ancient Phoenicians were recorded as living here in 800BC or there about. The commerce of trading was the name of the game back then. Through history each race of ruler; Greek, Carthaginian and then Romans, made the most of local produce and brought it to their respective empires.

Malaga Attractions

Come and see what can only be called a living history, with remains of the Roman theater still free to enter. Other local attractions include La Alcazaba Moorish military fort. The Gibralfaro Castle build by Abderraman III and reconstructed by Yasuf I. The Cathedral was built after the Moors were defeated. It took 200 years and more to complete. More recently the great Pablo Picasso was born here.
